and at some personal risk, since I'm talking about this before Thanksgiving...

I'm planning on doing something I haven't done in years: baking tons of cookies and giving them out to all and sundry over the holidays. To survive the process, I'm already baking one or two batches each week and freezing them.

I've made chocolate chip, snickerdoodles (and I'll be making more of those), hermits (ditto), peanut butter cookies and sugar cookies (not from scratch - I can never get the dough right, so I bought Pilsbury's finest.)

What else should I be making?

"Man, I just wish I could vote for Bush again." That's what I plan on saying when people ask me what I think about the elections or who I'm voting for. Aside from how it directly touches my industry (health insurance), I try not to comment much on politics in polite conversation.

Mrs. Y and I ordered Chinese delivery for dinner tonight from a place down the street, and when the time came to pick fortunes, my pick read thus: "Rarely do great beauty and great virtue dwell together as they do in you."

Not really a fortune, per se. More of a flattery cookie than anything. My wife's pick, however, was a real fortune.
