Lots of planets have a north.
I got my Vibrams yesterday. They were and are righteous. I'm not wearing them right now, they're not appropriate for work. I'm wearing my Chuck Taylors right now.
I am sooooo tired. I totally got enough sleep last night. I'm not sure what it is.

I watched Heroes last night. It was crappy. There's no point in watching at all from now on. Last straw. No joke. Not watching. If I watch next week, find some HuSi punishment for me. UNLESS I was drunk at the time.
So I finally got that gym membership and lifted for the first time in several years. I took it easy, knowing better than to kill myself on my first day in the gym. Accordingly, I'm not terribly sore, it's just that I have severe trouble walking or climbing stairs. I mean, yowzers.

I've been sitting here 10 minutes waiting for this query to run. In another 10, I'll probably get an error. So much time I'm able to write a friggin' diary. Oh! There we go, finally got the error.

It's pretty craptacular. It doesn't have real equipment (which, in my mind, would be an Olympic weightlifting platform, or at least a rack). It has, basically, a few cardio machines of various sorts, a bench press station, and some sort of ropey liftey thing (not even any place to do pullups!). Well, that's fine, in the end, because all I really wanted the free gym for is running when it's too cold to do it outside, but I had thought that, just maybe, I could use it to get back into real shape instead of just my running shape. So, it's body weight exercises and running for now.

So, there's a gym I have free access to in my office building. As it gets colder, I'm thinking about running there after work instead of doing so at home.

It's time to hunker down. Food budget approaching $20/week. Award-winning Franzia instead of Glenlivet. Spying on neighbors instead of going to the movies. And always watching out for the first signs of an adventure beginning or a chance to be a freelance hero.

That's it. I'm dropping out.
It's time to drop out and become a goatherd. Or an adventurer. Where should I go for adventure? How do you get a gig as a freelance hero? I was just in a four hour meeting and the market lost like 4% while I was out. That means it's time to cash out and join the battle against cosmic evil.

"Man, I just wish I could vote for Bush again." That's what I plan on saying when people ask me what I think about the elections or who I'm voting for. Aside from how it directly touches my industry (health insurance), I try not to comment much on politics in polite conversation.
